Equin: The Lantern Crack And Patch File Download

Updated: Mar 13, 2020

About This Game A randomly generated deal, each game is different! Free content updates all the time! Story: You're a kid. Who's gray. With rabbit ears. People have been grumbling about the goings-on below town. Seems there's some sort of magic lantern that's throwing the whole joint into chaos. Yeah, that's what I said too! Full of it, they gotta' be, right? Turns out- not so much.. So.. What's it you do again, kid? Warrior? Thief? Wizard? Cleric??! Cultist??!! OH! A lawyer!? Hahaha, well you sure had me fooled there for a while.. little jerk.. Here's what you're gonna' do: Head below town, JUST FOR ME, and see what the hell that Lantern's on about. They tell me it turns all kinds of colors, and each color changes the rules. How so!? What am I, an electrician?!? That's up to you to find out! And so you did! --- Equin: The Lantern is my fun roguelike with some wholly original ideas. Easy to get into, tough to master. Conquer the 50 floor dungeon and its evil inhabitants in a quest to the bottom of the joint to find the mysterious lantern itself. With features like a turn-based 1st person battle system, Auto Killing weaker enemies, an XP Hit Streak bonus, hundreds of weapons and armor to find, diabolical floor events to shake things up, a lantern who screws with the rules, and oh yeah- PERMADEATH BABY, this is the game for those who like a good challenge. STRATEGERIZE by slamming doors in your enemy's face to lock them in a room, or lead them into a web and trap their stank @sses. Watch out for stronger champ versions though and much stronger bosses at every turn! NOTE: This time around I got some help from the fantasic Rocco W and his sick 8-bit tunes! They were so good I decided to scrap all my own music except for the title theme. --- CAUTION: Some game effects contain flickering images, and might cause seizures in photosensitive players. 7aa9394dea Title: Equin: The LanternGenre: Indie, RPG, StrategyDeveloper:DXF GamesPublisher:DXF GamesRelease Date: 27 Aug, 2016 Equin: The Lantern Crack And Patch File Download equin the lantern. equin the lantern steam Equin: The Lantern is a pretty basic Roguelike game, but one that requires quite a bit of luck and planning to beat its enormous dungeon of 50 floors. The graphics aren't top-notch, but they suit the game well, especially since its low resolution and most likely even lower requirements allow you to play it on pretty much any potato you could think of, barring something from the 70s. Anyway, onto the actual review. The game basically throws you into it without a tutorial, hints, and only a choice of 4 classes (don't worry, there's Steam Guides). Each class has a unique playstyle, such as the Warrior literally being a walking one-hit KO machine if he hits late-game (IF is the keyword there), the Thief being nimble and all-around good in every category, the Wizard which has the lowest base stats but the highest early-game damage output and CANNOT MISS with spells, and the Cleric who refuses to run away from a fight regardless of how badly you want to in some cases. Oh, and he can uncurse himself during certain Latern Phases, which brings up the main point of the game. There's a Lantern in the dungeon and you're job is to survive the dungeon and bring the lantern back (something to that effect). The problem here is that not only are monsters there to kill you, so is the Lantern in most cases. It changes colors, which inherently changes the way most of the game works. I don't know what every phase does, but some can boost your hero and most boost the enemies while leaving you most likely in a bad situation. Knowing ahead of time what they do will come in handy, but in order to do that, you have to buy hints from the shops during a run. They're cheap though, so don't worry.Besides the basic tropes of RPGs and Roguelikes, such as random loot, permadeath, various monster ranks, etc., the game takes a bit of a different approach to the roguelike genre and plays moreso like a turn-based JRPG during combat. Bump into an enemy and you're whisked away, transition and everything, into an "Encounter" screen. This is actually slower than traditional roguelikes, but like some other RPGs, is sped up when you hit certain level thresholds by giving you an Auto-Kill mechanic, where you just bump into something and they die. Either way, you'll need to keep your stamina in check if you want to fight something. Run out, and you can't even run away.Loot, Maps, Enemies, etc. are randomly selected from a predefined pool of information, so unlike traditional roguelikes that randomly generate a whole bunch of things, expect to see a bunch of similar things here and there, such as the same Boss encounters (although they swap out here and there), enemies having the same stats at any point in the game, loot having fixed stats, etc. This isn't a bad thing, though, as the game has plenty of content that it'll take multiple playthroughs to see everything.Long story short, I'm enjoying the game. It's not the greatest roguelike, but for what it's worth, I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's much easier to get into than traditional roguelikes or even roguelites for that matter, so if you want an entry into the genre, I say pick this up.TL;DR Here's a Pro-Con list:PROSLots of content for the price. 50 Floors!Has quite a few interesting secrets and mechanics.Very easy to pick up, but difficult enough to provide a good challenge.Controller and Keyboard support. Simple controls too!Has Save/Quit, saves a Graveyard file on win/loss, and daily bonuses!NEUTRALNo tutorial. Hints are unlocked via shops in-game during a run.Classes not well described, but there's only 4 of them, so experiment!Steam Guides are available. It's up to you whether you want to read them.CONSCan be luck-based, to an abnormal degree sometimes. I've gotten very unlucky and had Killer Plants on Floor 1. Oh well. EDIT: As of 1.4, Killer Plants cannot spawn until Floor 3. That should help solidify a run a bit easier.Save/Quit does not allow you to start a new run from the beginning until you end your saved run. Kind of annoying. EDIT: As of 1.4, this has been fixed.A lot of mechanics are unclear without hints right off the bat. Be sure to get hints ASAP.. See My Review Video Below:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO9ZpWdfw-IEquin: The Lantern is roguelike developed by DXF Games, challenging the players with the goal of conquering the 50 floor dungeon and its evil inhabitants in a quest to the bottom to find the mysterious lantern itself.TLDW: Pros: Low Price, often on sale.Simple to pick up, fast gameplay.Deceptive levels of depth and resource management that will challenge experienced Roguelike Players.Classes each have independant playstyles. Catchy 8-bit music cfreated by Rocco W but this depends on taste.Attractive retro apperance.Attempts to add addition features usually unseen in Roguelikes.Low Space and hardware requirements.Steam Cards and Achievements.Good Steam Guide Support.Cons: Lack of interface options. No tutorial or rulesets mentioned in game however plentiful tooltips offset this slightly.Interface slightly clunky, can be difficult to find information on status effects. Text can be difficult to read.Combat can be slow and clunky.Screen flashes uncomfortably when struck in combat and may cause issues with people with sensitivity to such effects.Permadeath can lead to frustration.Limit Class Choices.Music rarely changes.Final verdict: Worth the price, if you enjoy roguelikes and want something a little different I recommend picking it up while on sale.. I didn't like this one. max resolutuon is about 480 x 340 and even tho you can make it full screen in the options, this causes the super low resolution to be stretched and look even worse. My biggest gripe however was that I could NOT quit the game after going fullscreen, even canceling the game from task manager would not work and eventually I had to reboot my computer just to end the process.. I really like the simplicity of the game.. Equin: The LanternThis game is one of my favorite roguelikes of this year. It has some unique ideas that come together and really deliver a good experience. As you play you find a palethra of items to use from equipment to wear and consumables, there is plenty to keep you coming back again and again. A lantern that changes colors will influence many aspects of the game and you will gradually find out how through tips you can buy at stores. Many items have hidden properties or diffrent uses that take some expermenting to find out. You may think at first that the game is a little easy but the difficulty sneaks up on you the deeper you go. And there are a total of 50 floors that have random events that can happen, anything from timed floors, reversing controls, or anti-magic fields. There are a ton more things I have not found yet but it is really keeping me entertained and I can't wait to play more. Oh and one more thing, The music is so good.. Cute game , No bugs that I have found and fun . NIce little find for the price of 1 dollar . Good Job. Equin: The Lantern, 80% off this week: Hello and yes it's true the game is on sale this week for a whopping 80% discount. So if you've been on the fence about it for a while it's probably not going to get any better than this (hint: it's not haha). Thanks for your continued and future continued support!P.S: Don't be like this guy who waited around too long.. and look what it got him!. Daily Hoo Hah #1,000,000: Apologies for this one, but I found a couple of things that needed to be fixed:Much much better randomization for maps. Did I mention MUCH yet?Using the service bell to reopen some cultist buildings turned them into shops. Some of the newer maps were "acting up" and had to be corrected.Level 4 rabbit heads in battle were not showing the correct icon (same with the Cursed Mofo, if any of you have seen that yet).To make up for it, here's what's new:20 new maps sprinkled into the mix. This is a whopping number! The DODGE skill now grants a +20% evasion rate instead of 10%The Thief can now begin the game with a Pocket Watch item as one of the starter gifts. This will add 50 units of time to a time bomb floor to help you escape. If there's any other issues I don't know about, I will find them. This is what I do.Thank you and have a great Saturday night!. Xtoli Point Reward System / XTP: Xtoli Points. October 2018 update!: Hello! If you are new to the game, I regularly update Equin: The Lantern with new content on a regular basis. Two Year Anniversary Giveaway!: Hello!Has it really been 2 years since ETL's Steam release? But of course! To celebrate this, I'm holding a giveaway for the game. I have 10 free copies for whoever's interested, just post here it'll be first come first serve.(Limit one per customer)--Thanks and here's to another 2 years of roguelike fun!. Revenge of the Nerfs: I am always striving to find the proper balance for the game, whether it be character classes, items, event spawn chances and all that. Anyhow in my travels I've always noticed that a character can pretty easily get a bunch of high DEF armor and be pretty much unstoppable for a lot of the game.I don't know about you, but getting hit for 1 damage all the time isn't my idea of a good time. I think specifically how the early sections of this game are: Dangerous. Every move counts a lot more (or so it seems). I want that air of danger back and to permeate throughout the middle sections as well before the tough guys show up later. My solution is a massive change to many pieces of armor, helmets, and shields. I took a look across the board at which pieces had super high DEF in particular and lowered their power. However, I also took balancing into account so many pieces had some other stats raised a bit (or added altogether) to compensate. This will be a long read, but here is every change I've made regarding this:--------------------------------HELMETS. Christmas Time Update!: Ho Ho Holy shit, it's another update!!ADDITIONS
